Hike a scenic stretch of the Appalachian Trail to Long Creek Falls in Three Forks Valley. The Appalachian Trail begins just four miles away on Springer Mountain.

One of Georgia's most beautiful sections of the Appalachian Trail is this two-mile in-and-back hike at Three Forks. Long Creek Falls is one of the few waterfalls on the southern section of the Appalachian Trail.

Cascading waters over 50 feet showcase a breathtaking waterfall that tumbles into a deep, calm pool below. A popular destination for hikers, Long Creek Falls is a must-see in Blue Ridge, GA. 

If you are staying at Serendipity on Noontootla Creek or Cherokee Sunrise on Noontootla Creek, which is at the end of Aska Road, you are just a few minutes away from this North GA mountain gem.

Directions:

  • Go 13.5 miles south on Aska Road to its end.
  • Turn right onto Newport Road, go 4.5 miles to end.
  • Turn left onto Doublehead Gap Road, cross a concrete bridge where the road will become dirt/gravel.
  • Continue .3 miles and turn right onto dirt/gravel Forest Service Road 58 (just past the cemetery and church).
  • Ride 5.3 miles on FS 58 to Three Forks area (Hikers Crossing Sign).
  • Noontootla Creek is on the right as you drive.
  • The trail begins on the north side of the road (on the left) and starts as a gradual hike alongside Long Creek.
  • There are three short ascents before reaching the blue blazed side trail to the falls at 1.1 miles.
